South African stone fruits officially enter the Chinese market.

On October 15, 2025, China's General Administration of Customs and South Africa formally signed a protocol on stone fruit trade during the "Belt and Road" Customs Food Safety Cooperation Meeting held in Shanghai. The agreement opens the Chinese market to South African stone fruits, including peaches, nectarines, plums, and apricots, for the first time.
